U.S
senate cuts aid to Egypt over democracy
By
ANDnetwork .com
The
U.S. Senate this week slashed 10 percent of domestic assistance to Egypt
because it failed to introduce democratic reforms
The
47 million US dollars cut was passed on Wednesday with President
Bushs administration opposing the cut. Jim Kolbe, the Chairman of the
Foreign Operation sub committee said Egypt is a strategic ally to U.S
and will they will lobby to restore the assistance.
A number of legislators want to cut assistance to Egypt because of its
failure to introduce promised democratic reforms. The Bush
administration opposes the cuts, noting Egypts role in the
Israeli-Palestinian peace process, and a Bush ally in the U.S. House of
Representatives said he would restore the assistance when the foreign
operations bill goes to conference.
Egypt is a strategic ally. We shouldnt be doing something like
this right now, Rep. Jim Kolbe (R-Ariz), chairman of the foreign
operations subcommittee, told National Journal. Egypt gets $1.3 billion
in military aid and just under $500 million in domestic assistance
stemming from its 1978 peace accord with Israel.

Muslim Egyptians kill Copts inside their
churches
By
Morris Sadek_ President of Coptic American Assembly
On September 11, 2001, Egyptian Muslim individuals
attacked United State of America and killed about three thousands
innocent individuals. The perpetrators, Ayman el zawahry, Muhammed Atta,
and Omar Abd-el Rahman are believers of Islam. On Friday April 14, 2006,
another three individuals who also believe in Islam attacked innocent
Christians while they were praying inside their churches. That attack
came under eyes of the Egyptian security authorities.
In Alexandria, Egypt, Three Coptic churches came
under attack from knife-wielding assailants during Mass Friday. The
officials said Mahmoud Abdul Galil, a former government employee killed
a 67-year-old Christian individual at Saint George Church in the Hadra
area of Alexandria and wounded three other Copts.
Another
individual called Mohammed Salah Eddin, attacked another church wounded
ten Christians in the Saints Church in the Sidi Bishr area of Alexandria
and an unknown man attacked Christian prayers
in the Virgin Mary Church in the Fleming area wounded another
three Christian individuals.
National
American Coptic Assembly in U.S.A. denies such cowardly acts against the
Copts in Egypt who are the original residents of the country. Also, the
organization says that these types of attacks are a result of the
strategy of the Egyptian government against the Christians. Moreover,
Copts are feeling that they are under attack from the government itself
and from the Muslim community.

A
Girl killed and ten wounded in attack against Coptic Christian
Community in Cairo
Al_Kalema
Center for Human Rights, in Cairo issued a press
release on Aug. 28, 2005 condemned and denounced the
recent terrorist attack by Islamists and the support of
Mubarak regime police and State Security Investigation in Al
Marj_ Cairo on , on Aug. 26, 2005.
As
a result of this attack , a girl child was killed and ten others
wounded. The terrorist were seeking a destruction of a Coptic
Church to grape a lot of land owned by the Church.
Some Coptic Christians tried to resist the the perpetrators, but
the interference of the police, who took the side of the
Islamists failed their effort to stop the attack.
On
the other hand, not one single newspaper or news media
covered this attack. The Patriarch, and other Bishops who issued
a statement early this month for Mubarak re-election , did not
comment or issue a statement to denounce the attack.
The
American Coptic Union, The National American Coptic Assembly
join Al-Kalema Center condemning this attack and call upon the
American Administration, Congress, and UN Human Rights to
denounce this attack and help arrest all perpetrator, who are
still at large under the protection of police authorities.

I
could not believe what I read about the scourging of a
Mr. Malak Boshra., an Egyptian Christian worker in Saudi
Arabia. He received 2500 lashes and a 5-year prison
sentence, ostensibly for committing the crime of robbery
(then offered dropping off the charges if he converts to
Islam). But what makes this news believable is that it
took place in a country like Saudi Arabia!
This sort of event makes one wonder if we are really
living in the Twenty First Century. When we see and hear
about countries adopting the rules of times past. Times
of ignorance and backwardness, and rules that once
governed primitive nomadic tribal groups. Such rules are
certainly not suitable for our times where not only the
rights of man but the rights of animals are protected
and respected.
No wonder that this is happening in Saudi Arabia. For
this country, with its dominating oppressive ideology,
is behind the desolation, terrorism, and wars all over
the world.
Saudi Arabia is the Great Satan of our times. It
exported its destructive Wahabi doctrines, promulgated
by a Mohammad ben Abdel Wahab in the Eighteenth Century
AD, to the Moslem World. The result is the ben Ladens
and Zarquawis spreading suffering and sorrow in our
planet.
Indeed Saudi Arabia’s
rulers should be put on trial for the countless crimes
committed against so many nations and countries.
>From the Philippines to the USA and from Chechnia to
Kenya, no place has escaped their harm.
Saudi Arabia forbids the Christian workers from carrying
a Bible, and allows no churches on its land. This is
happening at a time it finances the building of
countless mosques all over Christendom, including the
most Christian of the cities, like Rome.
Saudi Arabia is a country where “the believers”
are flogged if they do not interrupt whatever they are
doing to observe the five daily prayer times! But do not
be deceived by this veneer. This country, presumably the
protector of Islam, and the one that applies Islamic law
with an unequal strictness and zeal, is rampant with
social corruption and decay to the core. This apparent
paradox is well known to any one who lived there and had
more than casual contacts and knowledge of inner
workings of the Saudi society.
The international community should put Saudi Arabia on
trial for the crimes committed inside and outside its
borders. This is overdue and urgent. It should be
attended before more suffering and destruction are
brought up into our world.
Saudi Arabia is the main cause behind the suffering,
humiliation, and aggression committed against my people,
the Copts. The native Christians of Egypt.
