Gasir Mohammed Mahmoud June 21 (Compass) -- Five months after he was forcibly committed to a mental hospital for converting from Islam to Christianity, Gasir Mohammed Mahmoud has been discharged from his locked psychiatric ward in Cairo and set free.   Mahmoud was released June 9 from Cairo’s El-Khanka Hospital for Mental and Neurological Health, where two police officers from his home city of Suez had institutionalized him last January.   Mahmoud, now 31, told Compass last week that the doctor who discharged him called his adoptive mother and asked her to come and collect him from the hospital.   “But she told me not to return to Suez,â€� Mahmoud said, warning him that he would face problems there, both from his father and the state security police.   Parents Alarmed at Son's Conversion Adopted as an infant, Mahmoud was raised by the Muslim couple, who were alarmed last December to learn that he had converted to Christianity two years earlier. But his father’s angry appeal to local Muslim sheikhs prompted them to issue death threats against the son for committing apostasy.   After his mother asked local state security police to protect her son from being killed, they subjected Mahmoud to an endless round of interrogations and arrests.   Initially, Mahmoud said, he was questioned “in a decent wayâ€� in front of a state security officer named Mohammed Amar. He was then transferred to another official who brought two Muslim sheikhs to talk with him, trying to convince him to return to Islam. After eight days’ detention, eating only food that other detainees shared with him, he was sent to the Suez Security Directorate for an investigation that lasted four days.   Then he was released. Because his only Bible had been destroyed, he stopped at an evangelical church on his way home to ask for another copy. “But they were afraid,â€� Mahmoud said, “and refused to give me a Bible.â€�   Shortly after he returned home, a messenger was sent to tell him to meet Mohammed Amar again. When the policeman asked why he had gone to the church again, Mahmoud told him he could not stop himself from going there.   Police Torture   Police tortured Mahmoud's feet “So he started to torture me, to pull off the nails of my toes,â€� Mahmoud said. “Now I’m still not able to wear shoes because of the pain.â€� This continued for 18 days, he said. The torture included stripping him naked and dousing him with ice-cold water over and over.   After 15 days at the Suez police station, he was brought before the Suez district attorney, facing charges from his father that his son had beaten him. “How could I do this,â€� Mahmoud said he asked the district attorney, “while I was being detained by the state security?â€�   So the district attorney ordered his release, instructing him to report to the local police, to be sure there were no other accusations against him. But four days later, a police lieutenant and commander took Mahmoud by police car to Cairo’s Abbasseya Hospital.   When this psychiatric institution refused to take him, they returned to Suez. Then on January 10, the police committed him to the El-Khanka Hospital, where a medical committee was formed to examine his case.   “Once they put me in a room without any clothes,â€� Mahmoud recalled. “They filled the room with water, to prevent me from sleeping.â€� During his confinement, he was beaten at times and given heavy doses of medication twice daily.   Never Allowed to Leave Mahmoud’s supervising physician, Dr. Nevine, had told him he would never be allowed to leave the hospital unless he came back to Islam.   Thousands of Christians Imprisonment with False Charges

As a result of the Arab-Moslem campaign against the Coptic Christians, thousands have thrown in Jails without any fair trails, or clear evidence. The police and other governmental agencies always fabricate most of these cases, as long as a Christian Copt is involved. Alike civil Moslem Courts whom they impose “SHARII LAWS”, Islamic Codes, against the Christians, Marshal Courts are applying the same rules against military and civilians Christians in the Army. For instance:

·        Fouad Iskandar, Coptic Christian, who serves more than 20 years was sentenced for 10 years for a fabricated crime he never, committed. According to the Marshal Court, he was accused with smuggling military equipment from the army.

·        Further more, Samir Hozien, civilian was sentenced for three years in a corruption case where the Defense Minister, Mohamed Tantawy, the Defense Minister, was involved in that case, Samir was able to flee Egypt to the USA before the execution of a Marshal Court.

·        More, On the other hand, thousands of Christian civilians are in prisons for crimes committed by Moslems. For example, Dr. Naseem Malak jailed in due to the terrorist attack against German tourists in Cairo; he had no relation with the incident what so ever. Momdoh Kamel, a Christian Attorney, in Assiout, accused with a false murder charge.

·         Adly Shaker who lost his family, parents, sister, 13 years, brother 12 years, in a vicious genocide attacks by Moslem terrorists in Bany Swaif, on 1998, and still in jail waiting for re-trial.

·        Nabil Rizq-Allah, in El Gizah, sentenced to death, on April 29, 2001. Because of the murder of his wife, Nigmah Matthew, 39 years. Now, he is waiting for the execution. Nabil never had a fair trial. His wife killed by a Moslem burglar, who tried to rape her, while she was sleeping. Nabil was forced to change his testimony due to the torture, and humiliation by the police.

As a part of the ethnic cleansing, and Islamization of Coptic Christians, the Arab-Moslem regime adopts all Nazi-Moslem tools, killing, kidnapping, rapping, and forcing conversion of young Christian girls, and incarceration of thousands of Christians with fabricated charges.

Abducting Minor girls by Islamic Laws

It is a call to all; the General Secretary of the UN, Human Rights Organizations, and the Free World “ Save the Coptic Christian Women in Egypt”. A new strategy is being adopted by the Arab-Moslem regime in Egypt for ethnic cleansing and persecution against the Coptic Christians in Egypt. The Moslem government of Egypt usually targets the Christian women. After abducting, raping and forcing conversion to Islam for more than 400,000 Coptic Christian teenagers, the Moslem plan has shifted to Christian widows. On the coming June, 30, 2001 the Moslem Court of El- Fayoum will rule a very strange case, that is taking kids, jermine 12 years, and Iman 8 years, away from Christian mother’s custody, Fayzah Abdul Shaheed, to a Moslem orphanage. According to the Prosecutor office of El-Fayoum the kids must be in a Moslem orphanage, because their father, who past away was converted to Islam before his death. Fayzah, denied the conversion of her husband “ Imad, never converted to Islam, and he was a Christian believer” Fayzah said during a telephone call from Egypt to a Human Rights Activist exiled to the US a year ago.

Since 1999, the Arab-Moslem government has shut down the Human Rights Offices in Egypt, The Egyptian Human Rights Center, Mr. Morris Sadek, Esq., and Dr. Saad El-Din Ibrahim, the president of Aben Khaldoun Center. All are closed now. On the last two years most of the Christians victims had no where to report their grievances, and left alone facing their horrible fate.

  ·        The Assassination of Sinai’s Bishop

The racist government killed one of the heroes of Saint Mark’s Church in Egypt. On July.25, 2000 in an intentionally planned accident Bishop McKarry was murdered in the desert of Sinai. The perpetrators left clear evidence behind them, this time; they killed the Bishop’s car driver with knives when they found him not dead soon after the accident. To hide any evidence, and leaving no witnesses behind, the accident was planned to kill all passengers how in that car. Bishop McKarry, have been fighting for long time the racist rules and regulations of the Arab-Moslem government of Egypt. Since October 1995, Bishop McKarry have worked very hard trying to get a license to build a Church in a huge desert area of Sinai, but all his efforts were rejected. One of his attempts to get license, was when he approached President Mubarak during his visit to Al- Arish, on the north- east of Sinai, on May 5^Th, 1998. That serious attempt also was not answered, and failed.

It seems to be that the racist regime decided to kill any Coptic Christian who tries to build or do any maintenance works for any Church. On the last few months, the ethnic religious war against Coptic Christians getting increase, particularly after Mubarak’s visit last March, 2000 to the US.  Augmenting the religious war against the Christians of Egypt, El-Quds newspaper, have reported some other incidents against Christians as follows:

·       A Christian Activist killed by a Sniper on attack against a Church:

         On July 28, 2000 El-Quds reported that Fakhry Saad, a Christian activist, was killed in an attack of Moslems against, over maintaining a Church on Assole village, 50 kilometer south of Cairo. The late was Christian activist volunteering to help his community doing some maintenance works in an old Church. As usual, the racist government had its own plan to stop doing well. This time, the police gathered more than 200 Moslems to attack the Church and destroy the equipment, and desecrate the Church. During the attack, a car had stopped and the assassin shoots upon the victim, Saad, killing him immediately, then ran away from the scene of the crime.

·        20 Christians Injured in Attack against the Sacred Heart Church in Cairo

On July 25, 2000, the same newspaper reported that a Moslem was driving a car hit a little girl on the front sidewalk of Sacred Heart Church in Cairo. The girl’s family and relatives caught the driver in order to submit him to the police authority. A little while later, a significant number of Moslems gathered and attacked the people outside and inside the Church injured more than 20 Christians, set fire on numbers cars, and destroying the Church properties.

·        Bishop Amonious of Luxor under House Arrest

          In an unprecedented step Bishop Amonious of Luxor have been put under house arrest in one of monasteries in Egypt. Under the pressure, and terrorism of the racist government of Egypt, the Holy Council of the Coptic Orthodox Church had impeached the Bishop. According to the Law of the Coptic Church that a Bishop would be only impeached if he is mentally sick, or he is preaching heretic beliefs. In both cases the Bishop was never accused with any of above reasons necessary for impeachment. The declared accusations are phony, such his imposing a daily worship in all Churches in Luxor. The ACU made some call to Luxor to investigate the matter, the real reasons behind the impeachment and putting him under house arrest, because, first, he replaced Arabic language prayers with Coptic language. A crazy Truck hits two Buses, killing 30, and injured 11 others

The Desert Highway Cairo- El Minia had witnessed a devastating traffic accident yesterday, when death kidnap 30 young girls and boys, sons of Mar Gurgiss Church – misr El Guidedah. Victims were returning back home from a visit to Virgin Mary Monastery in Gabal El Tere- Samalut, in 2 loaded Buses. The accident took place when a crazy trailer hitched to a truck separated in a high speed hitting, and splitting the first bus into 2 parts, then threw, and buried the second bus into the sand.

The accident happened around 7 PM Friday, Buses belonged to a travel agent, the first carrying plate number 122- Cairo, driven by Adel Labib, the second411- El Guiza, by George Hanna.Buses were returning back to Cairo carrying 50 young passengers belong to Mar GurgissChurch in Hellioplice Misr El Guidedah in a summer tour to Virgin Mary Monastery in Samalut. In Sanhoris village, the driver of the first bus had surprised suddenly with a Truck number 2513 El Fayium, hitching a huge trailer number 281 El Fayium in a very high speed hitting the first bus, then the second bus collide with the first one. Immediately after the accident the dead bodies scattered all over the place of the accident. The death tool was 30 killed and 11 others wounded.

Names of victims :Morcos Zekry, Amgad Zakhry, Remon Milad, Mark Alber, William, and Marian Abd el Syeed, Hady Gurgiss ,Magdy Galal, Mina Adel, Walid Samy, Amir Saleeb. Adel Rizikallah, Yousef Gendy, Rony his wife, Joseph Khlil ,Noha Alfonse, Nora Makram, Marian Zahir, Mariam Sobhy, Mary Wahba, Nashat Wahba, Mounir Ghatass, Yousef Bishay , Atef Mousa, Bishoy Mamdoh, Mary Galal, May Gamal, Fady Tawik, Shireen Sayd, Samy Samir, Naser Samir, Geoge and Moheb Emad.
