Victim Sabry Zaky,Esq.

November 8, 2005

Mr. Matthew Reynolds
Acting Assistant Secretary, Legislative Affairs
Department of State
2201 C St NW  Rm 7327
Washington DC 20520-0099

Dear Mr. Reynolds:

An issue has been brought to my attention by the President  of the
American Coptic Union, Rafique Iscandar. Mr. Iscandar has advised me of the
killing of a young lawyer in Egypt, Sabry Zaky. Mr. Zaky had requested a
meeting with the US Commission for International Religious Freedom during
their visit to Egypt in July, 2004. He did not get an appointment for this
meeting but was killed a few days later.

It concerns me greatly that he was killed shortly after approaching
the American Embassy regarding a legitimate request for a meeting with those
who advocate religious freedom. I also understand that Mr. Zaky had
contacted the American Coptic Union prior to his meeting request for help in
dealing with threats from terrorist organizations. After these interactions
with the American Embassy and the American Coptic Union, he was killed by
choking and then he was thrown over the balcony of his apartment.

I am enclosing information about the circumstances surrounding Mr.
Zaky's death so that you will have all the details. However, the family
members that he left behind are also in fear of retribution. Mr. Zaky's
mother, Gamal Zaky, his brothers, Raymon Zaky and Adel Zaky and his sister
Nemaa Zaky, were the beneficiaries of false criminal charges which were
placed against them in order to further terrorize them.

I would appreciate it if the Embassy could assist this family. The
family is anxious to meet with the Human Rights Office at the Embassy to
discuss the circumstances of Sabry's death. They are also anxious to come to
the United States to emphasize the lack of religious freedom that is
prevalent in Egypt today.

I would appreciate it if you can assist this family in meeting with
the appropriate individuals at the Embassy who are sensitive to situations
of this nature.

Thank you for your assistance with this matter.

	With best regards, I am

						Sincerely,
