Letter to :

President George W. Bush

Dear President;

The Christian Coptic Community in the US congratulates our new president, George W. Bush, the First Lady, Laura Bush, and all members of your cabinet. We hope that we will see in the next four years of your presidency, the restoration of American conscience, and values toward the victims of the former Clinton’s foreign policy in Egypt. Since the time of President Jimmy Carter, the Coptic Christian in Egypt, as well as other non Moslems in the Middle East, have and still suffered that biased, and prejudiced policy. Generally, we are not against the peace between Israel and the Arabs, but the price should not be at the expense of Christian’s blood, who are not involve in the war. On the last 25 years, the Arab regimes traded the fake peace with Israel for the destruction of all Christians in Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan, and even in West Bank-Bethlehem. Unfortunately, there is no accurate statistics to show the world, the  horrible crimes of the Arab regimes against the Christians in that part of the world. Due to the Arab opposition to peace, thousands have killed, millions fled their homes, and villages were wiped out, thousands of girls abducted, enslaved, and rapped. United States should not be the party to blame for such policy, but some other peace partner, such as Egypt is to be blamed, first for its support to Arafat. Second, for encouraging the violence in Israel between the Israelis and Palestinians, to cover the killing of the Coptic Christians in Egypt.

          Mr. President;

          On the last 25 years, the Arab Moslem regimes of Egypt have received more than 50 billion dollars of American taxpayers’ money to sustain the peace with Israel, all that money, and effort seem to be gone for vain. Most of these aids have been used to fill the pockets of the racist regime. The killing, ethnic cleansing, and persecution against Coptic Christians were cover by former President Clinton political support to the regime, this policy must be stopped and reconsidered. At least, we hope the American support should be balanced between the Arab of Egypt, and Coptic native of Egypt.

In return of American help, and support to the Arab- Moslem regime in Egypt is un-appreciation, and anger. For instance, the regime is prosecuting an American citizen, Dr. Saad El Din Ibrahim, Professor of Sociology at the American University in Cairo, just because, he call for equality between the Christian Copts, and the Arab Moslems in Egypt. The Professor is facing allegations such as espionage for United States of America, against Egypt, receiving money from foreign countries to his Human Rights Center, Ibn- Khalddon in Cairo, and distortion the regime image before the World. Dr. Saad El Din may be the first Moslem, how stands for the truth, is under the threat of sentence for life in jail.

          Alike all racial Laws in the world human history, the Arab-Moslem regime in Egypt had surpassed all of it, by legislating, and Courts Rulings such as, “killing a Christian with licensed gun is legal”. Without the American support, the regime would not able to adopt such racist Laws.

          As a result of the peace process failure in the Middle East, the regime seizes the chance to feed more and more the anti- American feeling and hatred among the Arab Moslem people in the region, as well as victimizing the Christians, burning American flags, and President Bush’s picture, and organizing protests condemning the American policy.

          On the last 25 years the Coptic Christians people in Egypt lost as many as half of its population. More than 5000 Coptic Christians were killed in 32 different massacres all over the land of Egypt. 400.000 young Christian girls were abducted, raped, and forced to convert and married their Moslem rapist. Due to the racist Laws and regulation, more than 2 million Christians forced to convert, furthermore, 3 million have been displaced inside, and outside Egypt. We believe this information may help you see better the horrible image of Coptic Christians in Egypt.

          Mr. President

United States should not support dictatorship regimes, whom they are adopting racial Laws using American Money and Support. We call upon you to take strong actions to stop aggression of that racist regime in Egypt.

Sincerely yours;

Rafique Iscandar- President –American Coptic Union.
