After
his returning back to Egypt from United States, Mubarak’s regime pursues the
same policy of persecution, and terror against Coptic Christians. Recently, the
authorities arrested a Christian student, Andy Shoukry, 19 years old, happen to
be an American citizen born in California. According to the SSI, State Security
Investigation, the reason was publishing materials related to the persecution
against Christians. Now Andy is being tortured, and detained for no crime by SSI.
In Bany Swaif, the SSI still helping Moslem terrorists persecute, rap,
and even kill Coptic Christians. On 3-13-02, an Egyptian Christian woman, Iman
Illias, an Attorney, 37 years old, was targeted by a Moslem Brotherhood
terrorist, Mohammed Abdul Tawab. Mohammed and other Moslem terrorists
intimidated Iman seeking her to convert to Islam. Last week Mohamed beat her up
in the Courthouse, and promise a lesson if she is not surrender herself to him.
According to Iman “ terrorists used to sent her mail and books about Islam,
and threats”, “ a terrorist threat by spraying a strong acid on her face, on
March, 21, 02”. Iman is a Human Rights Activist helping the kidnapped and
persecuted Christian women. She
report all information to SSI looking for help, SSI overlooked her request. Bany
Swaif is a place where the climate for terror is convenient. The Governor Ragab
Abd Al Hamid, formerly used to be the Director of Christian Affairs at the
Interior Ministry in Cairo. Ragab is considered a war criminal due to his
barbaric actions against Christians. Another war criminal officer in the SSI,
Hazem Kassab, SSI Director in Bany Swaif. Kassab is responsible for a number of
massacres against Christians, and a mastermind for terrorism is the province of
Bany Swaif. SSI plays a main role in persecuting and killing of Coptic
Christians in Egypt.
For the last six months we have been watching carefully the Arab Islamic regime of Egypt’s behavior regarding terrorism, unfortunately, we found no positive signs on fighting it. Sept. 11 shattered the myth of US friendly regime of Egypt. Everyone knows about the Arab Islamic government of Egypt’s double-dealing. Everyone knows of its nurturing of anti-American and Christian and its obstruction of US. Efforts to combat terrorism, even as it claims it support Washington in every way. Egypt was once an important secular center among the Middle East countries. But it’s become a theocracy state. President Mubarak, has been for years a member of Moslem Brotherhood, in many ways fostered fundamentalism allowing Islamic terrorists to take control of a whole cultural, educational, and professional institutions. More, pertinent is that the regime waged a civil religious war against Coptic Christians by allowing Moslem terrorists to kill and persecute them. After Sept. 11, we expect the Arab Moslem government respond to the call of USA to eliminate terrorism, but the regime stay still in bed with terrorist organizations.
Moslem Brotherhood, a major terrorist organization, is the other side of the coin with Mubarak regime. According to the Law, the government and Mubarak, Moslem Brotherhood is an illegal organization and forbidden since 1954. Besides, 17 parliament’s members of Moslem Brotherhood, there are 200 more are active members of Brotherhood are scattered in all Islamic parties, including Mubarak’s Party, the National Party. Other Parliament’s members are Moslems support Moslem Brotherhood. The Speaker of the Parliament, Fathy Souror, is an active member of Brotherhood, and believes strongly in Wahabbi version of Islam. Recently, officials, scholars, and Moslem clergy have visited Washington promoting the image of Brotherhood from being considered as a terrorist organization.
On behalf of Coptic Christians in Egypt and abroad, we request President Bush Administration to stop All-American Aid, and loans to the Islamic regime of Egypt. These aids help the regime continue corruption and persecuting against Egyptians in general and Christians in particular. We expect president Bush do more against the violations of Human Rights of Coptic Christians in Egypt and the Middle East.
