Stealing and Robbing Coptic Churches Money and Assets
Palestinian Experience with Christians spread to Egypt’s Islamists.
Islamists, SSI, and infiltrated Bishops are behind robbing and spoiling money and assets of the Egypt’s Christian Churches. Last May, and June of 2005, a number of Newspapers in Egypt were focusing in funds and donations that go to help the persecuted Coptic Churches from all over the diasporas. Al_Osboua, Al_Umah, Al_Bayan, and other newspapers competed with each other reporting the financial status of the Coptic Churches in Egypt. Findings include, that the money is piling up in the Churches Bank accounts, due to the disallowance of using this huge funds in expanding the Coptic Churches. Permits to build new Churches, Schools, Hospitals, and social services facilities were forbidden.
We believe that the latest report and recommendation of USCIRF, United States Commission on International Religious Freedom has triggered the attention and concern of Islamists and SSI, and was a sign for them to finish the remaining wreckage of Saint Mark Church of Egypt and Africa. In fact, the Patriarch, and top ranking Bishops such as , Bishoy, Youannass, Bassanty, and others showed no sign of resistance, or protection for the Church’s assets.
For example, according to Church News, in Al_Mahalah, Tanta Province,Diocese, Province of Tanta, in the heart Nile Delta, $ 6 million ($ 6,000,000) robbed, and Bishop Metiass has fled to United States. People around the Bishop describe him as a man of honesty, and integrity. On the last ten years Diocese of Al_Mahalah, which is a big city for Cloths manufacturing, the Christians constitute the majority of the City , until Islamic terrorists, Mosques Sheiks, and SSI join their forces with the help of Wahabbi’s money destroying Christian Businesses, Factories, and properties that reduced the population to 30% of the City. Meanwhile Bishop Bishoy , contentiously harassing Bishop Metiass despite his seniority over Bishoy. Actually, we did not hear anything from Bishop Metias after fleeing to the US. Similar robbing story took place in Suhaj in Upper Egypt. Neither the Patriarch, nor Bishops report the incident to the authority. Instead Bishop Metiass is excommunicated, may be as a scapegoat , and cover-up.
